Snacks and Cool Milk Scheme

Days are busy at Sussex Road, calories are needed!  By Playtime, most children will need a healthy snack to keep energy levels up until they eat their lunch.

Children in Reception, aged 4, are entitled to a free carton of milk, supplied by Cool Milk.  Parents must register their child through the Cool Milk website to ensure their name is on the Drinking List.  Over 4s may still have milk in school but there is a charge to parents.  Please use the Cool Milk website to register and pay.

The Government's School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme (SFVS) delivers a daily piece of fruit or vegetable for all children aged 4-6.  There is no need to register for this; deliveries are based on pupil numbers.  There is generally enough fruit and veg for all children in Years R-2 to help themselves even if they are 7 years old.

For children in Years 3-6, we strongly encourage all children to bring a healthy snack into school.  This should be fruit or vegetables and nothing in a disposable wrapper.  As a school conscious of its impact on the environment, any pre-prepared snacks should be in a reusable container.

All children must have a water bottle in school.  This enables children to access water with ease in their classrooms.  Water is the only drink permitted outside of lunchtime.
