Happy Friday! You have made it to the end of Week 5!

 laughPositive Mental Health Week! yes

This week we have lots of activities planned as we keep positive all the way through Lockdown 3.

Remember though if you do have any worries, to get them out of your head, by chatting to someone or writing them down. How will you look after your wellbeing today?

Reflect on what you have done this week to look after your wellbeing. What will you continue to do, to take care of your mental health?

Keep uploading your work on Tapestry. We love to see it.

09:00 - 09:45: Class Daily Zoom Session!            DRESS TO EXPRESS!

It's been lovely to have so many of you join us for the calls so far. Make sure you have a paper and pen ready for the session, to make notes of key learning points and to be able to join in with the tasks :-).

Word of the Day:  Positivity!

Look up what the word means, what word group it belongs to and place it accurately into a sentence.

09:45 - 10:30   Mathematics.

Step 10: Divide 3-digit by 1-digit [RECAP]

Today, we’re going to spend some time continuing with our learning on Division. We're continuing to look at dividing 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit number, working with remainders.

Work through the Friday 5th February – Maths Activity.

It is really important to watch the White Rose videos on the link – this will help remind you of what to do with the formal written method.

10:30 - 10:45   BREAK!

Get outside and enjoy the Winter air or try relaxing with some more Yoga!

Kids Yoga with Adrienne:

10:45 - 11:15   SPaG

Spelling Revision: Words with the endings '-ent'.

Work through the given sheet, based on the activities from the Read, Write Inc book that we usually have in class. Look at the spelling tips that are given, then complete dots and dashes. After, work through Choose the Right Word.

Remember, try some Lexia/Spellzone too!

11:15 - 12:15   English/Writing.

What technological invention will you create?

Our topic this term is 'Have we benefitted from scientific and technological advancements?'. So, we have looked at chemical science with your potions and materials. Now, you are going to create your own technological advancement!

Today, you are going to be technological inventors!

Watch Dominic Wilcox's short video to inspire you:

  • Today, we would like you to make (using lego, k-nex, recycled packages etc) or draw your own invention to help people.
  • Take a photo or draw your invention! Create some quick labels about what you have used and how it works.

We'll write about it next week.

We look forward to seeing this on Tapestry!

12:15 - 12:30   Class/Own Book.

Like we would in class with our class book, spend some time quiet reading or listening to the class book. The teachers have uploaded videos of themselves reading different chapters on Tapestry, so be sure to check :-).

12:30 - 1:30   LUNCH!

1:30 - 2:00   Reading Activity.

Read the final sheet and use key ideas from this to help you create a poster telling pupils in Years 3-6 about how they could have Positive Mental Health and why it is so important.

  • Use the sheet or make a note in your book, completing the positive thought diary.

2 - 3pm    Circle Time/ Positive Mental Health Activities:

All this week, we have been celebrating Positive Mental Health, thinking of ways we can express ourselves. Look at the Positive Mental Health attached sheet.

Philosophical Question to finish the day!

Yesterday's Q:  How could people start their day in a positive way? What advice would you give them?

Miss Martin:

Miss Chapman: FOOD and MUSIC! I got my partner an Alexa Echo for the bedroom to use as an alarm for Christmas (I like it more than he does!) 6.30 each morning Hot Hits UK plays from spotify, which has me wiggling along to the beat as I get up. I have never really been one for food but have found lately even just a banana sets me up more for the day!

Mrs. Hudson:

Today's Question:  Why does every cloud need a silver lining?

Spend some time during dinner or at some point in the evening, discussing this with the other people at home! We're sure there will be some interesting responses :-)
