We have started our year by looking at Journey by Aaron Becker. It is a beautiful wordless story of a girl escaping her house to magical places using her red crayon.
We thought about our families and who we lived with over lockdown. Lots of us enjoyed being at home with our families for such a long time and we did lots of fun things together.
Over lockdown, we spent lots of time in our houses and our rooms. We looked at the girl's bedroom and compared it to our own. To share our rooms, we made them in our different areas.
The girl used her red crayon to escape her room. We loved having a think where the magic door might go to.
The magic door led her into the beautiful outdoors. We had a go at making the lanterns that hung in the forest.
