Welcome to week 2 of Term 4 Remote Learning!
We hope you had lots of fun last Friday for Ancient Egyptian Day! The activities, creations & models you have been sharing with us over Tapestry have been amazing! So wonderful to see all your creativity shine!
At the end of this week, is World Book Day! Therefore, throughout the week, we will be encouraging you to check out lots of new and wonderful authors and books. Sometimes, when it comes to reading, we stick with what we know, but it's always exciting to try something new :-) Hopefully you find a new author or text that you want to get stuck into!
Keep uploading your work on Tapestry. We love to see it!!
09:00 - 09:45: Class Daily Zoom Session!
It's been lovely to have so many of you join us for the calls so far. Make sure you have a paper and pen ready for the session, to make notes of key learning points and to be able to join in with the tasks :-).
Word of the Day: Embalm
Look up what the word means, what word group it belongs to and place it accurately into a sentence.

Step 4: Fractions greater than 1.
This week we will be continuing our mathematical topic of Fractions.
Work through the sheet Monday 1st March – Maths Task.
It is really important to watch the White Rose video on the link – this will help with your new learning!
10:30 - 10:45 BREAK!
Get outside and enjoy the soon to be Spring air if it is appropriate and safe to do so.
Tennis: Practice your racket skills. You need a ball and a racket (this doesn’t have to be a tennis racket, it could be a table tennis bat or even a large spoon. You could also use a rolled-up ball of scrap paper as a ball). How many times can you hit the ball? Keep a record. What is your best score?
10:45 - 11:00 SPaG

Like we would in class with our class book, spend some time quiet reading or listening to the class book, The Time Travelling Cat. The teachers have uploaded videos of themselves reading different chapters on Tapestry, so be sure to check :-).

1:30 - 2:00 Reading for Pleasure!
Check out Tapestry for a range of different books being read by some of the teachers. They are reading you a snippet of their favourite children's books. Settle down and listen in... Maybe you'll hear something you want to read further!

2 - 3:20pm History Focus:
Researching Egyptian Daily Life:
Choose two of the areas given to research about daily life in Ancient Egypt:
(We will be covering other areas later in the term!).
If you have books on Ancient Egypt, use these! If not, the website below will help:
Make notes on 2 of the areas. We will do 2 more tomorrow! If you want to create some more pages on Egyptian life, then please do :-).
Philosophical Question to finish the day!
Yesterday's Q: Would you like to visit Egypt? Why?
Miss Martin: I think it would be a fascinating place to visit! I've never been and I remember when I first found out that the Giant Pyramids of Giza aren't out in the desert remotely somewhere in Egypt, but right next to a huge city (Cairo!). Imagine walking through the streets and having that as the backdrop in the distance...
Mrs Hudson: I have been lucky to visit Egypt. It really is amazing to see the wonderful monuments along the Nile at Luxor and Karnak and the towering statues at Abu Simbel; the Valley of the Kings and the stunning Cairo museum with Tutankhamun's death mask in. It is a great place to visit.
Today's Q: Which book character would you most like to be and why?
Have a great evening and join us tomorrow for some more exciting learning :)
