Good Morning Year 2!

Here we go another awesome week to do some awesome learning.



Word of the day: record

How many sounds does it have? Use your magic fingers to sound it out?

What does it mean? What type of word is it - noun, adjectives, verb or adverb?

Can you use it in a sentence?


Here is our timetable for the day, have fun and remember to send us some of your lovely work.

Joe Wicks PE session

9:30 – 10:30


  •  Recap the direction and turning vocabulary we started using last week.
  • Look at the pictures showing example directions.
  • Answer the questions, describing the routes and drawing the routes show.
    -  You will need to draw some of the images in your book before you can answer them.
  • Have a go at the extension questions. (How many different routes and True or False Statements).

10:30 – 10:45


Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

10:45 – 11:10

SPaG Unit 4 (p12) adding -er or -est

  • Try the speed spell with 6 words from unit 3.
  • Look at the spelling zone for this week’s rule when adding the suffixes.

11:10 – 12:00


  •  Watch the teaching video about what a diary is
  • Look for the features in the example diary entry.
  • Make a success criteria using the video and the example of things we should include in a diary entry.

12:00 – 1:00


Go outside for a bit of fresh air and play a game!

1:00 – 1:30


  •  Read or listen to chapter 3 of our class story 'The Enchanted Wood'.
  • Discuss if you think the children should go up the Faraway Tree.

1:30 – 3:00
