Monday 4th Jan

Good morning, Year 2!

Welcome back to school (sort of)! Mrs Aktins and Miss Williams are excited to get started on our new enquiry...

How do you make a masterpiece?

We have created a daily timetable for you to follow to keep you busy whilst working at home. All the things that you will need for today's learning are found on this page.

Don't forget to upload your fantastic work onto Tapestry so Mrs Atkins and I can see what amazing things you've been up to.

Have a fantastic day :)

  • Can you explain what multiplication is? What other words mean the same?
  • Watch the video ‘Recognising Equal Groups’.
  • Complete the questions on equal groups and move onto the Problem Solving and Reasoning questions once ready.
  • Extension: Can you gather the correct number of items and put them into equal groups?

  • Whilst we sort out your phonics groups for the week have a go on some of the online phonics games.
  • Challenge yourself with which phonics sounds you choose to practise.

  • Grab a healthy snack and get outside for some fresh air for a run around, a kick around or a bit of fresh air.

  • This week we will be writing a biography of the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh.
  • Read the fact files and/or use the websites to research Van Gogh.
  • Record the facts found under the most suitable subheading.

  • Enjoy some lunch and get outside for fresh air.

  • Read along with Miss Williams ‘The Most Magnificent Thing’ by Ashely Spires.
  • Think about and discuss with someone in your house a time when you have been frustrated with something you have tried to make/draw/write. How did you resolve your frustration?

Forest School

  • Head to the Forest School page on the website to find some activities you can do at home.
