Bikeability

At Sussex Road Primary School school, we’re proud to offer Bikeability, a national cycle training programme designed to help children gain the skills and confidence they need to ride safely. Through a series of fun, practical sessions led by qualified instructors, pupils learn everything from basic bike handling to navigating real roads responsibly. Bikeability supports children in becoming independent, active travellers—encouraging healthy habits and helping them stay safe on their journeys.

Bikeability is usually offered to pupils in Year 6.  The school is allocated a set number of places.  Should the school have fewer places than pupils, it is offered on a first come, first served basis.  To take part, pupils need a fully roadworthy bike and a cycle helmet.
