Term 1 2022-2023

Can communities be the same and different?

This term we will be learning about the Ancient Maya people of Central America, considering the differences between the Maya and those living in Britain at the time.  We will also think about the similarities between the Maya beliefs and practices and those of our own today.  We will learn about the geography of Mexico, comparing and contrasting it to that of the UK and considering reasons for some of these similarities and differences.

As part of our RE learning, we'll be considering why some people believe God exists.  Are people influenced by others?  Can a religion be chosen and why do people believe in something they cannot see?  We'll be extending our French vocabulary by describing foods as 'healthy' and 'unhealthy' and considering which foods we do and don't like.
