Good morning, Year 2!

Today is the day you get to create your own pencil masterpieces laugh

I'm very excited to see your creations so please do share them on Tapestry.


Also, I'd love to see how you're getting on with Hit the Button and the other
times-table games. You can show off your scores on Tapestry yes



Here is your suggested timetable for the day



  • Watch the video ‘5 times-table video’ on today’s page.
  • You can also watch the 5 times-table song video if you want.
  • Complete the 5 times-table questions matching the number sentences to the pictures and then draw pictures to match the 2 multiplication number sentences.
  • Complete the missing number in the number sentences.
  • Extension: Practise your 5 times-table questions by having a go at the game ‘Hit the Button’.
  • Have a go at the problem solving and reasoning questions.

Remember to explain/prove how you got to your answer.


9:45 – 10

  • Head to Tapestry to find your group’s assigned phonics/SPaG activity.


10 - 10:40

  • Grab a healthy snack and get outside for some fresh air for a run around, a kick around or a bit of fresh air.

  • Come and join us for a catch up, online lesson or to ask any questions you might have.


11:10 – 11:35

  • Watch the video of Mrs Atkins reading Katie and the Starry Night thinking about how Katie might be feeling at different parts of the story.
  • Create a mind-map for each of the scenes from the story to describe how Katie might be feeling at that time. Use the feelings word mats to support you.


11:35 - 12

  • Read through the PowerPoint on ‘Forming adjectives using –ful and –less’.
  • Complete the tasks applying the suffixes –ful and –less.
  • Have a go at the extension task of writing your own sentences.


12 - 1

  • Enjoy some lunch and get outside for fresh air.


1 – 1:30

  • Read again, or listen to Miss Williams read ‘ish’ by Peter. H. Reynolds thinking about what the characters are like.
  • Complete one of the activities to describe the three difference characters.


1:30 - 3

  • Today you will having a go at creating your own van Gogh inspired pencil drawing of a landscape.
  • Watch the video of Mrs Atkins demonstrating this on Tapestry.
  • Use your pencil skills from the past week to help you.
