Tuesday 21st July

It's the penultimate day of Year 2!

(Can you remember what that means from our word of the day last week?)

Philosophical discussion: Give a positive, a negative and an interesting fact about lockdown.

Here is our day plan for today:

Suggested times

9 – 9:30

Complete a couple of GoNoodle dances

9:30 – 10:30

  • There are lots of pirate themed questions that test all of your four operations.
  • Read them carefully and then have a go at answering them in your maths book.

10:30 – 10:45

Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

10:45 – 11:10

SPaG - Unit 14 (p48) suffix – tion

  • Have a go at the dots and dashes for the root word. How many sounds are there?
  • Try to add or take away the suffix in the world changers.

11:10 – 12:00

  • Watch a couple of pirate stories read by Miss Wilson or Miss Williams on the Year 2 Remote Learning Books and Audio page.
  • Can you write your own pirate story now?
  • Read through ’how to make a good story’ and use the pirate vocabulary to help you.

12:00 – 1:00

Go outside for a bit of fresh air and play a game!

1:00 – 1:30

  • Draw and label a picture of your own imaginary land which might appear at the top of the Faraway Tree.

1:30 – 3:00

Hat Attack

  • Watch the video showing how to make a pirate hat of your own.
  • Can you follow the simple steps and make a hat for everyone in your house?

End of the day

Enjoy spending some down time with your family.

A challenge for a milliner!
