Good Morning Year 2!

We hope you have a terrific Tuesday, here is your day plan with suggested timings and your activities. Use your home learning and spelling books to write in. We are looking forward to seeing the different reasons you come up with about why Henry VIII wanted to live at Hampton Court. Think back to our persuasive leaflet and the research we did to help you, alongside the Hampton Court website below.

Suggested times

  • How many minutes in an hour?
  • Change the length of time for all the activities into hours and minutes.

10:30 – 10:45

Break and snack

Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

Starting unit 1 (r sound, spelt wr)

  • Look at the root words, sound them out with your magic fingers and then do their dots and dashes.

  • Draw a story map of our trip to Hever Castle (or of a favourite day if you didn’t visit Hever Castle)
  • Write a time word next to each picture

12:00 – 1:00

Go outside for a bit more fresh air and do a GoNoodle activity!

1:00 – 1:30

Read a story with someone in your family, use the dog questions at the back of your learning pack as comprehension type questions like we do at school

1:30 – 3:00

Why would Henry VIII want to live at Hampton Court?

Research Hampton Court and think about the benefits of living there. Look on the Hampton Court website to see why Henry VIII liked it there.

Make a mind map in your new book or on the sheet of why he would want to live there and the benefits of it.

End of the day

Enjoy spending some down time with your family.
