Tuesday 9th June

Philosophical question: What would be your absolute perfect day?

Here is your timetable for the day:

Suggested times

9 – 9:30

Joe Wicks PE session

9:30 – 10:30

  • Rewatch some of the Year 2 Maths Problem videos to give some guidance on how to solve today’s maths problems.
  • Have a go at as many of the 15 maths problems as you can.
  • Use the Year 2 Maths Recap document if you need some help remembering how to do some of the processes.

10:30 – 10:45

Get outside in the garden for a kick around, run around or a bit of fresh air.

10:45 – 11:10

SPaG - Unit 8 (p27) words ending in -le

  • Dots and dashes – how man sounds do the words have?
  • Have a go at the word changers removing the different suffixes. Careful some will need changing slightly.

11:10 – 12:00

  •  Watch our teaching video today to think about how the Jolley Rogers are slightly different to the families you might find in Dull-on-sea.
  • Have a think of things that are the same about the Jolley Rogers and those families in town and then think about how they are different.
  • Can you make a table in your book to bullet point your similarities and differences down?
  • Look at the model in our teaching video today and how I turned ideas into a comparative paragraph.
  • Now it’s your turn – remember you could use the comparison suffixes –er and –est and try to use your conjunctions to extend your sentces with more information.

12:00 – 1:00

Go outside for a bit of fresh air and play a game!

1:00 – 1:30

  • Read or listen to Chapter 15 ‘The Saucepan Man goes to the wrong land!’
  • Discuss how you think they’re all going to escape this new land.

1:30 – 3:00

  • Unfortunately, the Jolley Roger’s ship is broken, and they need a new one. Your task over the whole of this term is to create a model ship to replace their ship
  • Today we are going to look at the parts of the ship, so we know how to design one. Have a research and use the key words at the bottom of the page to label the pirate ship accurately.

End of the day

Enjoy spending some down time with your family.
