Wednesday 1st April

Good morning Year 3!  Pinch punch first day of the month.  (Gently!)

You’re nearly there. The holiday starts in just a few hours.  Do your very best work before then.

8:50am Word of the Day – adorn

Find out what it means.  Write it in your book.

I wonder how you will adorn your Easter/Spring card today.

9am Joe Wicks PE workout (YouTube)

Over the holiday you can revisit some of Joe’s workouts to keep fit. J

9:30am Read to an adult

If there is speech in your book, look at how it is written: comma, inverted commas, full stop, comma, question mark or exclamation mark and then the final inverted commas.

       ,”            ,”

       ,”            .”

       ,”            !”

       ,”            ?”

Don’t forget to look for new speaker- new line.  Write 2 sentences with correct speech punctuation in your exercise book.

(Write the short date, book title and pages read in your exercise book.)

10am GoNoodle and Maths

GoNoodle -

Maths – Use fractions to solve problems with length, mass, money and time.

Look at Week 2 Lesson 4 Step 9

There are a lot of problems on today’s sheet for those who really want to challenge themselves over the holiday.  Don’t try to do them all today!

11am Take a well-deserved break!

11:20am Grammar and Spelling

Use your Year 3 and 4 Spelling List to make the corrections.  See sheet.

11:30 am Poetry - The Hungry Sofa

With your synonyms for ‘eat’ and yesterday’s rhyming words, you’ll be able to write super stanzas today.  Please share them with us! J

12:30pm Lunch  Hopefully you won’t eat as much as the sofa!

1:30pm Art

It’s time to be creative!  See the Art activity below.  If you don’t have coloured paper, why not use bits of coloured recycled paper/advertisements or something like leaves from outside.

2:15-2:30 Break

2:30 - 3:00 MyMaths and TTRockstars

MyMaths A review of column addition and subtraction has been set on MyMaths. To this end, there is a ‘Year 3 Models + and –‘ document below which shows how pictures can and should be used to ensure your child understands exchanging between HTO (hundreds, tens and ones).

TTRockstars If you don’t like the time pressure of TTRockstars, why not try Hit the Button. However, don’t abandon TTRockstars altogether or you know we’ll have to send reminders.

3:00-3:15 (or possibly during dinner)  Time to Talk.  As a school we are now going to be sending the same philosophical brainsqueezer to all year groups once a week, so families only have one question to discuss.  Today’s question is

If you dig up buried treasure, is it yours?

What do you think?  Make sure you give examples to back up your opinion.  What do other members of your family think?  Have a discussion, remembering to listen to and respect each other's opinions.

Over the holiday

You might wish to continue writing in your diary.  What an amazing record this will be of these incredible times for you to read in the future.

Whoop!  Whoop!  It’s the holiday.  You have worked so hard and we are all so proud of you.

Give your parents a huge hug for supporting you with all of this learning, while still making meals, washing clothes and trying to sort out so much else!  We know what a balancing act this has been for families and are so grateful for your parents’ support.

Have a wonderful holiday with your family.  We are really looking forward to catching up with all of you in Term 5.  J
