Open up your book to the second Ditty and read the sounds on the speed sounds chart, then have a look at the Green and Red words. Keep reading, and re-reading, those Green and Red words until you can read all of the words super speedily with almost no Fred talking!
Turn the page now and we will have a look at the second Ditty. Have a look at the pictures, and think about the title – what do you think this story is going to be about? Why do you think that? Do any of the Green or Red words that you have been practising give you any clues about what might happen?
Now we have thought about the story, we can have a read of the second Ditty now. Don’t forget to re-read each sentence with some expression – not like a robot! Maybe you could say the sentence in your best reading voice to whoever is at home with you.
When you have read the Ditty a few times, get a grown up to ask you about the story – have a look at the questions to read and answer at the back to give you some ideas about what to ask.
