Welcome to Year 2
2AW & 2LW
On this page you will find all the important information you need to support your child at home as well as gain a sneak peek into the exciting journey we are on!
Why did Henry VIII have six wives?
We will be looking at treason, castles, palaces and those famous wives!
How do I create a work of art?
We are looking closely at the work of Vincent Van Gogh especially his 'Starry Night'
Our Starry Night
We were each given a section of Vincent Van Gogh's 'The Starry Night'
to create on canvas using oil pastels. As part of our exhibition we put them
altogether to make a work of art.
We have been inspired by our trip to Tonbridge School's Old Big School Gallery and their 'Beast' Exhibition.
Year 2 were lucky enough to spend an afternoon with Mrs O'Dwyer, a potter and artist, to make some animal pots. They thought carefully about the animal's features and the textures of the animal.
Where should Paddington go on his holiday?
We will be looking at the countries and cities of the United Kingdom to persuade Paddington where to go!
We will be looking at creepy crawlies, their habitats and what they need to survive.
Every Wednesday new tasks will be assigned to your child on the MyMaths website.
They have one week to complete these tasks before new ones will be allocated.
They only take around 10-15 minutes each and will really support the learning your child does at school.
